Charter: every company we run serves one of three pillars. Capital for founders. Awareness for brands. Community for missions.

Why we built Maverick Brands AI

Capital efficiency was the whole point.

We learned the hard way that marketing is the leakiest bucket in any raise. The money that goes to finding investors is money that never reaches the business. With a human team, the best we could do was run a dozen or so campaigns at once, and every new channel meant another vendor and another report nobody could reconcile.

So we set out to answer one question: where is the money actually coming from? That became a live dashboard, then a set of agents, then a full engine that finds investors, follows up, and puts more behind whatever is working. Launch went from months to about a week. Founders keep more of what they raise.

“Why would you pay for marketing when you can have the marketing pay for the marketing?”Scott Hansen

Raises we've run

Consumer brands with a story raise fastest.

Real products, strong founders, and customers who wanted a piece of the company. Three of the campaigns we point to most.

Apparel · Reg CF

Nine Line Apparel

$2,987,152

from 1,200+ investors in about 90 days

goal $2.5M119%

An established apparel brand raising growth capital for automation. It beat the goal, and investments kept arriving while the round was closing.

Coffee · Reg CF

Proud Mary Coffee

$1.23M

the full reviewed-financials ceiling

ceiling $1.235M~100%

A Melbourne roaster with cafés in Portland and Austin and a loyal direct-to-consumer base. Customers became investors, and investors kept buying coffee.

Food · Reg CF

Kreatures of Habit

$938K

raised for a functional-food brand

raise→ new bar line

A founder with his own following. The campaign paid for its own awareness, and the proceeds funded more marketing and a brand extension.

The playbook, in one line

Sell first. Raise to a warm crowd.

  1. Build the list. Selling campaigns pay for themselves and capture every customer, online and in the wild.
  2. Test the waters. Fans raise their hand before the offering opens. No money changes hands.
  3. Open to VIPs first. Day one starts with momentum, and momentum pulls in everyone else.

Results from closed campaigns Maverick Brands marketed, as reported on the funding portal at close. Past results do not guarantee future results and are not typical of every campaign. Each offering's terms and risks are in its own Form C.

“I only serve one master, and that's my founders.”Scott Hansen, Founder

The founders

We raised it ourselves first.

Scott and Meghan Hansen raised about $7 million online for their own company, years before most founders had heard of equity crowdfunding. People who heard the story kept asking how. So they started helping founders one at a time, and Maverick Brands grew from there.

Scott Hansen

Founder

The big-idea guy. A graduate of The Citadel, Scott started on Wall Street during the tech boom and built his first company in Manhattan. Six companies and four exits later, including a national consumer brand on shelves from coast to coast, he came back to the thing he loves most: technology that gives founders an unfair advantage. He races the Baja 1000 and sails open-ocean regattas, and runs a raise the same way: all in.

Meghan Hansen

Managing Partner

The one who makes it real. Meghan spent her career in fund development, raising money for nonprofits, then ran marketing for a growing consumer brand. She was the first to say their playbook could help other founders, and the first to ask why it couldn't help missions too. That question became Maverick's Give program. Detail-driven, founder-first, and the host of Giving Live.

The short dossier

  1. Wall Street

Capital markets in New York through the tech boom. Where Scott learned who gets access to capital, and who doesn't.

  2. Mission fundraising

Meghan's career in nonprofit fund development: telling a story well enough that people give.

  3. Building brands

Tech in Manhattan, then a consumer brand built from a sketch to a national footprint.

  4. Raising online

About $7 million from everyday investors, among the early companies to raise this way.

  5. Maverick Brands

Founded to run that playbook for others. 50+ raises and counting.

  6. Maverick Brands AI

The playbook turned into an engine, so every founder gets the team we wished we'd had.

What we believe

Our philosophy on founders and missions.

Founders keep control.

Raising from your own community means writing your own deal, not taking someone else's term sheet.

Back the jockey.

Investors back the founder as much as the business. The founder's story is what converts.

Customers are closest to the money.

If you love a product, why wouldn't you want to own a piece of its story? Buyers become backers, and backers become evangelists.

Every dollar should work twice.

Marketing that sells product while it builds the investor list pays for itself. Capital efficiency is the job.

Loyal to founders, not platforms.

We work across funding portals and stores, and place every client where the economics work best.

Access to capital is American.

Small checks from many people keep good ideas alive. Most investors put in about $1,000. Nobody is betting the farm.

“The company is the car, the platform is the road, and we're the gas.”
